Callums Magic

 It’s been ages since The Dragon Prince ended its 3rd season with lots of character progression. As we patiently wait for the new season to be aired in Netflix our friends in the west are enjoying “Through the Moon” so let us wait for some spoilers. Hence the waiting time tends me to digest the characters detail by detail and somehow came up with a possible event that will happen in the new seasons.

Let us start with the courageous sorcerer Callum. He undoubtedly showed the biggest character progression among others.

 “Callum’s Theory of Primal Magic” could be the next winner for Nobel Prize for primal magic studies. His theory contextually states that everyone (whatever race humans or Xadian) can manifest primal magic because the world that they are within can be the source of primal magic itself. It just needs a channel to manifest the magic within by concentrating, meditating, and enchanting the spells. Some of these scenarios enabled Callum’s character to progress his magic journey in the series.

1. Callum’s cube. We all know that this is a relic owned by Aaravos the master of magic himself, and this relic could identify the primal magic source once it made a contact with this. There was a lot of time that this cube made a contact with different humans (Ezran, Amaya, etc.) but nothing happened. But this relic enabled him to understand the world within magic, it guided him in his dream and even provided answers to what he is seeking.

2. Any magic-induced or performed can be a catalyst to perform primal magic. When Callum performed dark magic he entered his demise during that time and made him sick. In his dream, he made a contact with the cube with a dark magic relic and enabled him to grasp the secret behind the primal magic. After which he was able to perform primal magic which led me to understand that when Callum performed dark magic it opened something on him (mana pores or spiritual pores or primal pores) that enabled him to perform primal magic.

3. Callum’s peculiarity. It could be simple as Callum is a special boy with special powers. Aaron Ehasz confirmed in one of his talks about Callum’s magic and it could only mean that he is pushing something remarkable, something no one has ever completed in the history of mankind. We don’t know yet if someone of from the human race also performed the same feat but if that happens I’m expecting someone old teaching Callum the secret of magic just like Aang’s journey in mastering the four elements.

Whatever the possibilities are we will know someday that Callum will drive the story that we are expecting and somehow he can fight in par with Viren perhaps with Aaravos. I’m quite exhilarated and excited about this.
